Poutama Churt - Our red check churt has always been a staple in the hori arsenal - so after about 7 years we decided to revamp shirt and add a bit of Māori flair by creating a Poutama design using the classic check. ( this wasnt easy but we are stoked how its come out ) 

The Poutama design represents progression and growth — a pattern steeped in Māori culture that carries real meaning. Tidy enough for those moments when you want to look sharp, relaxed enough to feel like yourself. It's a churt that works for gatherings, events, or whenever you need to feel grounded and intentional without trying too hard.

Poutama has multiple meanings, symbolizing the growth of a person and the levels of knowledge and achievement. It is used in weaving and tukutuku panels and can represent genealogies, the journey of learning, and the ascent to higher realms of knowledge. The pattern also reminds viewers of life's journey, which involves both progress and setbacks.
